In “Doctor Sleep,” a tribe known as The True Knot traverses the highways of America in search of sustenance. Disguised as harmless individuals, they feed off the “steam” produced by children with the “shining” as they are slowly tortured to death. Dan Torrance, haunted by his traumatic experiences at the Overlook Hotel, has spent years drifting, seeking to escape his father’s legacy of despair and violence. Eventually, he settles in a New Hampshire town, finding solace in an AA community and a job at a nursing home where his residual “shining” comforts the dying.
Dubbed “Doctor Sleep,” Dan’s life takes a dramatic turn when he encounters Abra Stone, a young girl with an extraordinary shining ability. Abra’s remarkable gift reignites Dan’s own inner demons and draws him into a perilous battle for her soul.
